GROOMING
GROOMING IS AN ART, AND THE CAT IS THE MASTERPIECE
Flawless fur doesn't just happen. It requires dedicated naps and frequent grooming.
Grooming is vital for Maine Coons due to their long, dense, and water-repellent coats, which are prone to matting and tangling. Regular maintenance is essential for their health, comfort, and well-being, as neglecting it can lead to painful skin issues and other complications.

MATS AND TANGLES
Maine Coons have a thick double coat with a dense undercoat and long guard hairs, which can easily become matted or knotted without regular care. When mats are left untreated, they can pull on the cat's skin, causing discomfort, pain, and potentially leading to infections. Severe mats can become so tight that they can only be removed by shaving, which should ideally be done by a professional groomer to avoid injury.

REDUCING HAIRBALLS
All cats ingest some fur while grooming themselves. However, the sheer volume of a Maine Coon's long hair means they are more susceptible to developing hairballs. Regular brushing removes loose fur before your cat can swallow it, which significantly reduces the risk of hairball formation and uncomfortable regurgitation.

MAINTAINING SKIN AND COAT HEALTH
Brushing helps to distribute the cat's natural skin oils throughout their coat. This keeps their fur healthy, shiny, and less prone to dryness and flaking. Consistent grooming provides a chance to inspect your cat's skin for lumps, bumps, parasites like fleas, or any other health concerns that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Our Extra Large Homemade Cat Tower
We are not saying you need to build your own cat tower for your Maine Coon cat, but you will need something study and solid.
We have multiple cats climbing, jumping, playing and chasing each other up and down our cat tower. It needed to be doubly durable! (Biscuit modeling again!)
AmeizPet Catnip Spray for Cats
Spraying catnip on a scratching post works by using the euphoric effect of the catnip to attract your cat's attention away from your sofa and onto a more appropriate scratching surface. This is one of our cats and kittens favorite playtime toy and one of ours too! The wand, with pulley, adjusts to different lengths. You can lock the string at a specific length or cast and wind the string back by using the reel.
Crinkle Sound Catnip Kicker
Cats love catnip crinkle kicker toys because they provide a multi-sensory experience that appeals to their natural hunting instincts. The combination of an elongated shape for "bunny-kicking," a stimulating crinkle sound, and the catnip creates an irresistible toy that keeps felines engaged and entertained.
